So this year I was lucky enough to go to the biggest festival in Denmark, Roskilde. If you’ve been following me on Instagram you will have seen my ‘post a day’ while at Roskilde. I did this to encourage me to take pictures during my 10 days st the festival so i could 1. Write about it from pictures and 2. Remember what happened each day. After day 4 it all started to get a little blury….

I had an amazing time and would love to return next year 100%. After meeting up with old mates and making new ones it’s not hard to see why people make such strong friendships at Roskilde, you feel like you’ve been through some kind of battle together holding each other up as the last few days loom in. Comrades in arms watching a wide range of live music from the likes of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Neil Young, New Order, Tenacious D, Skepta and so much more. Not to mention all the wonderful food and friendly Danish people, the best festival atmosphere and experience I’ve ever had.

The skating kicked off the festival as the ‘warm up’ days began. From Friday-Tuesday it’s all about the Street City area before the main event opens up. During these days festival goers decend onto the fields to pitch their camp for the week and watch the shows including Inline, skateboard, BMX, wheelchair and street dancing. Such a great way to warm up the crowd and have what feels like a mini festival of our own before the big music starts. The skating shows were incredible, this is the first time I’ve been to an event and seen that the inline show gets more attention and support from the crowd than any other show… That felt special. I skated in the show as we had a strong handful of ladies to compete. Frieda Reisch clearly took the limelight for the ladies as she shredded up the course and Joe Atkinson came through with a double win for the bowl and the street course, the crowd were juiced! As Tuesday night closed in we partied into the night for the last night on the Street City stage before the big Roskilde festival started. What a sweet start to an amazing week.

During my time at the festival I was also writing Roskilde live updates on behalf of Be-Mag, to read more about my adventures at the best festival in Europe head over to Be-mag to see more…

For now, as I write this from London feeling mentally battered and bruised with the infamous Roskilde Hangover, I’ll leave you with my photos from the festival as I get ready for NASS this weekend.

All photos shot on iPhone 6s.

Thank you to Jojo and Bo who put in a lot of effort, hard work and love to bring the inline part to Roskilde, also to Freddy White and Be-Mag for giving me the platform and opportunity to write something different and again Jojo for the invite. Everyone else I love you all!

Until next year….
